First "Inspired Blessings" Songs by Jean Marie Prince
This all started one morning in January, 1998. I was lying in bed with my two kids, Chelsea, age seven and Dylan, age four (now twenty and seventeen years of age, respectively). I used to make up songs and sing to them. On this particular morning, I started to sing, “When we wake up, we should praise the Lord!” At that moment I said to them, “Let me write down what I am singing.” I don’t know why I decided to do that, but little did I know, that this would be the birth of “Inspired Blessings.” That same morning, I wrote down five short prayer songs. My kids probably still remember those songs—we sang them a lot!
I need to give you a little background of my experience with writing inspirations, so you can see God’s power in this—I have none! Not being a writer and having limited writing skills, How could that possibly be?…
In the first few years when Jean Marie Prince started to write these inspirations, the Holy Spirit gave her the melody with the lyrics. She would carry a tape recorder just in case to capture the melody so Jean Marie would not forget it. She had no idea why she did that but Jean Marie felt that she was suppose to. These songs were written in about an hour and it was only possible because God has given her this gift!
